The weather and climate in Krabi is typical to the monsoon climate of Southern Thailand. The year can be split into two seasons and average temperature year-round is 27°c. The rainy season spans from May to October and the dry season takes place between November and May, with the latter being the more popular time to visit.
The main currency in Krabi is the Thai baht. Exchange booths can be found throughout the main towns as well as plentiful ATMs accepting most major international credit cards.
Krabi offers both public and private transport options. Public transportation is cheap and efficient and your options include; taxis, local buses (Songtheaw), motorbike taxis and Tuk Tuks. The latter 3 are fairly cheap and can be flagged down anywhere, with prices often being non-negotiable. Taxis tend to be a bitr more on the expensive side but can be hired per hour, making them a great option for some sightseeing in air-conditioned comfort.
An alternative option to public transport is renting a car or motorbike, which are fairly common throughout Krabi. Prices range depending upon type of vehicle chosen and rental duration.
If you plan on visiting some of the surrounding areas or beaches, hiring a longtail boat + captain is also possible, and these can be hired (shared or private) at select locations on all mainland beaches.
