A Day in Phuket
There’s no shortage of things to do on Phuket but if you’re looking for some inspiration here’s a little taste of what you can get done in a day:
Start off by visiting a national park or landmark (such as the Golden Buddha). It’s best to visit these types of places early to avoid the daytrip and tour crowds. You’ll have plenty of time to look around by the time they arrive!
Next, take a late morning/early afternoon swim at one of Phuket’s beautiful beaches (Laem Sing, Bang Tao, Surin, Karon, Rawai..) ,soak up some rays and enjoy some great snorkeling before enjoying lunch at one of the many beachside restaurants or stalls.
Now it’s time to explore Phuket Town – Phuket’s sleepy provincial capital. Be sure to check out Old Phuket Town and witness the amazing colonial architecture for a real taste of Phuket’s past. Careful not to spend too much time in the little shops and cafes!
As the sun begins to set, enjoy a sun downer in one of Phuket’s many Cliffside bars. My personal favourite; Freedom Bar on the hills between Patong & Kamala. Great staff, reasonable prices and fantastic views of the Andaman!
Starting to feel a little peckish? Head into town for an early dinner. For a real authentic experience, try one of the roadside restaurants. Great food at unbeatable prices!
As they say – the night is young! So take in one of the many cabaret or cultural shows (Phuket Fantasea- Kamala Beach) before heading back to your hotel, browse through the stalls at one of the many night markets held around the island or party the night away on Bangla road, the choice is yours!
